RE Summer of Fun 2025

June 13 Funway 1-3 pm

Join us at Funway's Backyard Park! Attractions include go-karts, bumper boats, water wars and more!* We will aim to do at least two activities as a group. Feel free to explore as long as you'd like wherever you'd like afterwards. UUSG will pay for two activities for each youth who RSVPs for the event. Friends are welcome! Plan to meet Becky at the back entrance for the bowling alley and we will decide which activity to do first. *in the event of rain, we will do indoor activities

June 27 Cougars Game 6:30 pm

Join us Friday, June 27 at 6:30 for a night of baseball, post-game fireworks, and running the bases with the Kane County Cougars. Wristbands for KidZone are included upon request. Game tickets are compliments of UUSG for members, friends and guests. Newcomers welcome!  RSVP by June 22.

July 16 Pottawatomie Park 9:30-11:30 am
Come explore the playground, park, walking paths, mini-golf and more with friends from UUSG. Bring spending money for the concession stand if you're interested. Each person who RSVPs will receive a round of mini-golf compliments of UUSG. RSVP by July 13. 

July 30 Hall Quarry Beach 1-3 pm

Join us for an afternoon at the beach! Splash around, swim and play! Admission courtesy of UUSG for kids who RSVP.  Please RSVP by July 27.

Aug. 10 Sunset Pool 1-3 pm

Join us for an afternoon at the pool! Splash around, swim, play in the sprayground, hit the water slides and/or drop slides! Admission courtesy of UUSG for kids who RSVP. Please RSVP by Aug. 5.

Aug. 24 Batavia Riverwalk & Creamery 1-3 pm

You are cordially invited to join your fellow UU friends and families to enjoy a taste of Batavia. We will explore the Batavia Riverwalk, making a stop at the playground and navigating our way around the path, ending at the Batavia Creamery. An ice cream cone for all the kids from the Creamery will be courtesy of UUSG. Please RSVP by Aug. 19.

About the Riverwalk: "Extending from the entry plaza at Houston St. and going north along the Depot Pond, the path features a boardwalk leading to the North Point Pavilion. This Pavilion provides a grand view of the river to both the north and south. Following the path around to the east, walkers will encounter the Batavia dam as well as the Riverwalk wildflower sanctuary. In the buildings across the river, windmills were produced from the mid-1800s until the 1940s. Many examples of these mills can be found along the Riverwalk."

One Saturday each month members of UUSG will volunteer to pack food for families who are in need. Summer dates: June 14, July 12, Aug. 9.

Make Lazarus house lunches (40)
Date needed: July 5. Saturday's lunches may be delivered on the Friday before by 8 pm or Saturday by 10:30 am. More details can be found on the sign up. Feel free to sign up for any open dates!

Birthday box assembly
July 24 @ 1 pm
Join us to put together birthday boxes for kids to replenish school supplies throughout the year. Kits also include fixings for birthday cake. All supplies have been purchased with social justice funds. Thank you to the Hospitality Service Project for making this possible.
