Right Relations Covenant
Right Relations Covenant of UUSG
Proposed by the Board of Directors, March 2026
We, the members and friends of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, covenant to nurture a community of love, respect, and responsibility. Guided by our shared values and the Unitarian Universalist Principles, we strive to make our covenant a living reality in all we do.
We Promise to:
Welcome all with warmth, curiosity, and respect for each person’s journey.
Listen deeply and speak with honesty, kindness, and humility.
Assume good intent and seek understanding when differences arise.
Honor confidentiality and respect boundaries.
Acknowledge our impact and take responsibility when harm occurs.
Stay in relationship through disagreement, engaging conflict as an opportunity for growth.
Practice forgiveness—of ourselves and others—when we fall short.
Celebrate together, share joy, and express gratitude freely.
Work for justice and compassion both within and beyond our walls.
When We Stray from Our Covenant
We commit to pause, listen, and seek repair. We will ask for help when needed and return to relationship in the spirit of love and accountability.
Living Our Covenant
This covenant is a living promise. We will revisit it regularly, reaffirm it in worship and meetings, and let it guide how we speak, decide, and serve—together.
