Holiday donations for the Illinois Youth Center: Because we will not be having our traditional holiday party, we are seeking donations of individually packaged treats for the 40 young men incarcerated at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles. We need 40 of each item. candy bars, small packages of pre-popped corn, TAKIS/hot chips (small bags -Meijer), small beef jerkies (Costco), granola bars, Ramen noodles, Little Debbie treats and Oreos (2-cookie package). Also popular are the Kool-Aid flavoring packets that go in individual water bottles.
Please sign up to bring 40 treats here. Donations may be left in the Common Room on the table in front of the big bulletin board at UUSG until Nov. 24. Please clearly label: “Illinois Youth Center.” If you would like more information or would prefer to make a cash donation, please contact Melissa Auer at Melissa.auer@illinois.gov.
